Lesego's thoughts about UWT:
"We are being shaped as young graduates to inspire others and to empower ourselves, it is therefore our responsibility to grab all opportunities available to us so that we can make a difference in South Africa. These changes that we can drive can be big or small, regardless it is about getting up and wanting to see something shift which is important."
I am a new mom to a baby boy, recently completed my studies so very excited about building myself professionally.
2014
My name is Lesego Tshuwa and I am one of three children. Currently at the University of the Witwatersrand and studying towards a Masters Degree in Urban Studies I am driven towards making a difference in South African communities that are faced with socio-economic challenges. My main goal is to become a professional who enriches young people and encourages them to achieve their goals. I enjoy outdoor activities as they challenge me both physically and mentally. I am constantly seeking to become a better person. I value the relationships I have with people as I have learnt that each person has a story to tell and I can learn from these interactions. The most beautiful person in my life is my mother, she has been my pillar of strength and friend and from her I have gained a great deal of knowledge about how to stay true to who I am. My philosophy in life is that one should keep on trying no matter how difficult one’s journey is, and no one should ever give up on oneself. Everyone should strive to live, love and laugh and all times.
